Marbella Bingo: How Many of These Have You Actually Done?

Everyone who spends real time in Marbella collects the same stories. The valet chaos. The yacht envy. The sunbed politics. Whether you’re a long-time resident, a summer regular, or you just moved into your first villa here, chances are you’ve lived at least half of this card.

Grab a pen (or just count in your head) and see how many you can tick off.

1. Had a drink (or three) at Puente Romano

Puente Romano isn’t just a hotel, it’s practically its own postcode. Andalusian villages of white-washed walls and bougainvillea sit right on the beachfront, connected by walkways that somehow lead you past a Nobu, a Cipriani, and half of Marbella’s most-photographed sunset spots. You went for “one drink” at COYA or La Suite. You did not have one drink.

2. 🛥️ Watched a superyacht “traffic jam” in Puerto Banús

Puerto Banús has never done anything quietly. The marina, built in the 1970s to be the flashiest port on the Costa del Sol, still delivers on that promise every single evening. Boats the size of small apartment blocks jostle for the best mooring spot in front of a crowd that gathers on the boardwalk purely to watch, drink in hand, like it’s a scheduled show.

3. 🏛️ Wandered the Old Town and pretended you weren’t lost

Marbella’s Casco Antiguo is a maze on purpose. Narrow whitewashed streets, orange trees, and Plaza de los Naranjos at the centre, a square that’s been there since the 15th century and somehow still feels like the heart of the town. You told yourself you were “exploring.” You were lost. It was still lovely.

🏡 Said “just a quick viewing” and stayed two hours

Villa viewings in Marbella have a way of not staying quick. Between the terrace, the pool, the kitchen you didn’t know you needed, and the view over Sierra Blanca or La Concha, ten minutes turns into two hours and a mental furniture plan before you’ve even left the driveway.

⛰️ Hiked (or attempted to hike) La Concha

La Concha is the mountain that watches over all of Marbella, and at some point almost everyone here decides to climb it. The views from the top, stretching from Gibraltar to the Rif mountains in Morocco on a clear day, are worth it. The regret in your legs the next day is also very real.

🎉 Been to Starlite Festival, or at least talked about going

Starlite, held every summer in an old marble quarry outside Marbella, has quietly become one of Europe’s most talked-about festivals, drawing global names to a stage carved into the rock. You’ve either been, or you’ve had the “we really should get tickets this year” conversation at least twice.

⛳ Ended up at a golf club without really playing golf

Marbella and Benahavís have more golf courses per square kilometre than almost anywhere in Europe, from Los Naranjos to Valderrama down the coast. Even if your handicap is nonexistent, you’ve still ended up at a clubhouse terrace for lunch, surrounded by people in polo shirts discussing their swing more than their score.

🚦 Sat in Golden Mile traffic behind a car worth more than your house

The Golden Mile, the stretch between central Marbella and Puerto Banús, is where the town’s old money quietly lives behind hedges and security gates. It’s also where a Lamborghini idling at a red light next to you is just an ordinary Tuesday, not a special occasion.

🍹 Paid more for a chiringuito sunbed than for lunch

Beach clubs like Nikki Beach, Trocadero, and dozens of family-run chiringuitos line Marbella’s coast, and pricing logic goes out the window the moment you sit down. The paella was €18. The sunbed with the good umbrella was €80. Nobody blinked

So, how did you score?

0–3: You’re new here, or you’ve been hiding at home with excellent taste in privacy. Either way, welcome.

4–6: You’re properly settled in. Marbella life has started to feel normal, which is its own kind of achievement.

7–10: You’re basically a local. At this point you might as well let us help you find your next home here, because clearly you’re not going anywhere.

WHAT WE DO

At 3SA Estate we work primarily as buying brokers – based on the customers’ best intentions. We stretch across the Costa del Sol but our focus area is Marbella. At 3SA Estate, we are inclusive, i.e. we sell high-quality homes regardless of budget, but our focus is middle-income and up. With our diverse and international team, we meet our customers in a high-quality approach regardless of nationality.

We help our customers negotiate and compare properties based on their unique needs and preferences, completely free of charge. We assist our clients throughout the entire process, including the legal sections, together with our partners at the best law frms. We have all the right contacts with legal agents, banks, craftsmen, cleaning companies, and other local operators to assure a safe and convenient process for our clients.

Our vision is to become the most attractive brokerage firm globally, based on the most important places in the world linked to each other, forming a solid business ecosystem between Estate, Selected, Rentals, Conferences, Concierge and Development.

What does our ecosystem mean for you? Imagine that you rent a house, fall in love with it, but cannot afford it and it is not for sale. We will assist you in purchasing an apartment. A few years later, you sell your company and buy a new house that requires renovation, which we help you with. So, we don’t just think of ourselves as a real estate company; we also see ourselves as a “concierge service” that makes our clients’ lives better.
