Starlite Marbella 2026: The Complete Guide to the Costa del Sol’s Biggest Summer Festival
Every summer, Marbella does something no other destination on the Spanish coast quite manages — it turns a former marble quarry into one of Europe’s most talked-about nights out. That’s Starlite. And in 2026, it’s celebrating its 15th anniversary in style.
Whether you’re a resident, a seasonal visitor, or simply planning a trip around it, here’s everything you need to know.
What Is Starlite?
Starlite Occident Marbella is an annual open-air festival running from 19 June to 29 August 2026, set in the Cantera de Nagüeles — a dramatic natural amphitheatre carved into the hillside of Sierra Blanca, just a few minutes’ drive from Puerto Banús and the Golden Mile.
The quarry sat abandoned for over two decades before being transformed in 2012 into one of Spain’s most unique live music venues. Since then it has grown year on year, and is now widely regarded as the world’s leading boutique festival. Over 350,000 people from 95 countries are expected to attend the 2026 edition, with more than 60 nights of concerts spread across the summer.
What makes the venue special isn’t just its history — it’s the physics of it. The stage is surrounded by 60-metre-high rock walls that create remarkable natural acoustics. With a capacity of around 2,200 people, it feels nothing like a standard arena. Artists play close. The crowd is small. The sky above is open. Jamie Cullum once described performing there as feeling like being “on the moon.”
The 2026 Lineup
The 15th anniversary edition has pulled together one of the strongest lineups in the festival’s history, spanning rock, pop, soul, Latin, flamenco, electronic and classical crossover.
International headliners include Lenny Kravitz (29 June), Maroon 5 (7 July), Deep Purple (9 July), Rick Astley (10 July), Jean-Michel Jarre (13 July), John Legend (20 July), Diana Krall (21 July), Kool & The Gang (23 July), Zucchero (28 July), Nile Rodgers & CHIC (26 August) and Anastacia (14 July).
Latin and Spanish acts are equally well represented, with Ozuna (19 June), Juan Luis Guerra (15 July), Yandel Sinfónico (18 July), Carlos Rivera (22 July), Gloria Trevi (24 August), Pastora Soler (22 August), Malú (10 August), Vanesa Martín (14 August), Rosario (1 August) and many more rounding out the programme.
Over the years, the Starlite stage has welcomed Enrique Iglesias, Elton John, Lionel Richie, Andrea Bocelli, Ricky Martin, Sting, Tom Jones, Pet Shop Boys, Alejandro Sanz and Eros Ramazzotti, among many others. The 2026 lineup holds up comfortably against any previous edition.
The Venue & Getting There
The Cantera de Nagüeles sits around 5km from Marbella town centre and roughly 8km from the Golden Mile coast. It takes about 20 minutes by car. Taxis can drop directly at the entrance.
For those driving, advance parking (Parking Star) costs €30, or standard on-the-night parking at €10 with a shuttle to the venue. VIP parking with chauffeur service comes included with Gold and Silver box tickets; Platinum parking is included with Platinum boxes. Arriving early is advised — the parking logistics are part of the experience.
Dining at Starlite
The gastronomic area opens at 8pm, giving you time to eat before most concerts begin. Five distinct restaurant concepts operate inside the venue:
Sandra’s Caviar Bar — champagne, caviar and oysters for the full glamour effect. Ánima — colourful Mexican with an informal atmosphere. Tanabata — Nikkei cuisine, blending Japanese and Peruvian influences. Temazo — Mediterranean grill. Raffaella — Italian trattoria.
Booking a table in advance is strongly recommended, particularly on high-demand concert nights.
After the Concert
Starlite doesn’t end when the music stops. Most nights continue with DJ sessions and late-night parties inside the venue, collectively known as Sessions. Single tickets are available for entry to the after-show independently of concert tickets — a good option for those who want the atmosphere without committing to a full show. The vibe shifts from live concert to open-air club under the stars.
The Starlite Gala
Once a summer, Starlite hosts one of the most high-profile charity events on the Costa del Sol — the Starlite Gala, co-hosted by Marbella’s most famous son, Antonio Banderas, alongside Sandra García-Sanjuán. Since its inception, the Gala has raised over €3 million for causes including Lágrimas y Favores, Niños en Alegría and Cudeca. It’s a red carpet affair that attracts the international jet set and regularly generates coverage far beyond Spain.
VIP, Boxes & Corporate Events
Private boxes (Platinum, Gold and Silver tiers) are available for groups, corporate entertainment or special occasions, each with varying levels of service, parking and hospitality. Starlite MICE handles bespoke corporate events separately — brand activations, private dinners and product launches — using the full venue infrastructure.
Starlite Beach Club — New for 2026
A new addition this year: Starlite Beach Club, opening at the Laguna Beach complex in Estepona at the start of the festival season. Covering more than 2,000 square metres with capacity for over 600 people, it brings the Starlite spirit to a beach club format — pool area, restaurant, live music and DJ sets. An extension of the brand that makes sense for the Costa del Sol crowd.
Why It Matters for Marbella
Starlite isn’t just a festival. Over 15 years it has become part of what defines Marbella’s summer identity — positioning the city, as one observer put it, as the musical capital of the Spanish summer. It draws an international audience that stays in local hotels, eats in local restaurants and puts the destination on the map in ways that traditional tourism campaigns rarely achieve.
For anyone living in or visiting Marbella this summer, it’s worth going at least once. The setting alone justifies it.
